Ferries to and from Koh Chang
Passenger ferries leave the main pier in Laem Ngop hourly from 6am to 6pm for Dan Kao in Koh Chang. The cost is around 100B and the journey takes an hour.
Two car ferry firms operate from Ao Thammachat 9 kilometres up the coast from Laem Ngop. They charge about 150 Baht one way for a car and run hourly from 7am to 7pm daily. They also carry foot passengers (100B) and are linked to Trat & Laem Ngop by taxis. Crossings take around 30 minutes.
Another Car Ferry company operates from the Centrepoint pier, 4 kilometres from Laem Ngop. The fare for passengers is 100B and the crossing takes 50 minutes.
All of the ferries arrive at piers in the north-east of Koh Chang. On arrival share taxis wait to take passengers to the various beaches. White Sands Beach (Hat Sai Khao) is 40B, Klong Phrao is 50B, Kai Bae 60B and Hat Ta Nam (Lonely Beach) costs 80B. A taxi goes to Bang Bao once daily at 4pm.
