On Thai public holidays banks, post offices etc. are closed but all transport and most tourism-related businesses still operate as normal. On Buddhist holidays it is illegal to sell alcohol.

22-23 Monday/Tuesday Trat Memorial Day - Not a public holiday but an important day where the locals celebrate the return of Koh Chang and Trat province to Thai sovereignty after King Rama V negotiated with Cambodia.

6 Tuesday Chakri Day - A Buddhist festival and national holiday.
13-15 Tuesday-Thursday Songkran - Thailand's internationally reknowned new year festival and holiday. Expect to be soaked in the water-throwing festivities
